Prophet Bob

KAVA presents their fifth full length release, “PROPHET BOB”. The band lost two years ago, Bob Popp. So they decided to book time in the studio that Bob owned along with Quentin Poynter, Gunpoint Studios in Chicago. KAVA asked Q to just roll tape as they played from the top of their heads for hours in a place that is full of Bob memories. Then, the band took the files back to their respective cities to make sense of it all and to make songs out of it. The end result is a haunting, dark and full musical thought that is unique and shows the band at the peak of their creativity in the studio.

Transmissions

Just released November 11, Transmissions consists of recordings that were made by all three band members from their own respective cities (Chicago, Denver, and LA) and sent, or transmitted, to one another to be pieced together into songs.  The result is a stunning free-form recording with a psychedelically robotic feel.

Beginnings

Released in the spring of 2014, Beginnings is a collection of KAVA’s first two studio EPs.  The first was recorded by Quentin Poynter at Gunpoint Studios and the second was recorded by Rollin Weary at In Vault Labs in Chicago.

Separations

In December of 2012 KAVA locked themselves in a cabin in Michigan with provisions and recording gear. They spent the second half of 2013 culling and refining the material from the session

Shikaakwa

Shikaakwa was recorded live in March of 2013 with no overdubs and is at the same time an exciting rock album and a loyal documentation of the scope and the raw talent of this band. Shikaakwa is a perfect representation of how KAVA sounds live, complete with trippy effects in the drums and guitars.
